Mission

The Tee Off On Leukemia golf event supports the development of treatments and educational resources that are improving and saving lives in communities throughout Northeast Ohio. All funds from the event will support the Meredith A. Cowden Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

About the Meredith A. Cowden Foundation

The Meredith A. Cowden Foundation, which raises awareness of blood cancers and helps people living with them, is named in honor of Meredith Cowden, a 28-year-old leukemia survivor and 2007 Cleveland Institute of Art graduate. Through the Foundation, we hope to increase the number of leukemia survivors and to improve post-transplant quality of life for bone marrow transplant recipients.

About The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient aid. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested $483 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers to over 425 researchers in 120 institutions worldwide. Society-funded research has led to key advances in understanding blood cancers and has produced new treatments to enhance and prolong lives. Innovations in cancer treatment over the years have included radiation and chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation and new targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal cells. In addition to research, the Society offers an array of patient services, including patient education programs, an Information Resource Center (IRC) staffed by Master’s level nurses and social workers, direct financial aid, support groups, and peer connections for newly diagnosed patients.
